I. Make appointments for the exam

Pearson Vue: InsTX-LAH05   General Lines - Life, Accident & Health -

If English is not your first language, you can apply for additional exam time. To apply for additional time (75 minutes extra), you'll need to fill in the form below and ask your manager to write a letter. Once you are approved, you schedule exam by calling 800-466-0450.  Download the form here.

II. Prepare for the exam

There are two ways for you to prepare the license exam:
1. Guided study: Buy an online course and follow the course.

2 Practice Exam Tests

Do the 2 practice exams one by one. Time yourself (1 minute for 1 question). Review the questions you miss. If you can score > 80% on a new exam, you should have no problem passing the actual exam. It's a good idea to schedule time with your trainer to go over the questions you miss, one to two days before you take the test. Read this Kaplan book and do the exercises after each chapter. Click the picture to download the book in PDF. We recommend you to read the first 271 pages only. You don't have to read the whole book. But you should finish the exercises that follow each chapter.

III. Passed the exam. What's next ?

Congratulations on passing your license exam. Next you'll apply for license. Get appointed and start to make money. Just follow the steps below.

1.   Electronic fingerprint
You must schedule a fingerprint appointment:   https://uenroll.identogo.com/#/
Enter code: 11G6QF (Ori TX920540Z) $41.45 processing fee.
Please do not throw away the receipt you get from the IdenToGo office.
You'll need a code on the receipt to apply for license after you pass the exam.

2. Apply for license
Step 1: Go to Sircon.com (https://www.sircon.com/products/apply.jsp)
Some states may use NIPR as the vendor.
Step 2: New Insurance License and Resident + Individual
Step 3: Enter your email address and click on next.
Step 4: Enter your name and SSN. Choose the right state.
Step 5: Make sure you choose the exactly same license you have tested for:
General Lines- Life, Health, (HMO) and Accidents.
Answer questions about your employment history (at least 5 years without interruptions) and background questions.
You'll need to enter a code on the finger printing receipt from the IdenToGo.

申请延长考试时间:
如果需要延时（从150 分钟延长225分钟），需要在PearsonVue 网站建个账户，登录进去提交 ”ESL 延时申请表“，并由manager附上一封信。具体步骤如下：
第一步： PearsonVue Accommodation Website 创建一个Pearson VUE账户（ https://vue.onhgcloud.com/asp/HgPortal.asp ）
第二步：点击 “Starting A New Request", 因为在下拉表单中找不到 ESL，只有一些因残疾申请延时的条目，可在表格空白处中留言： “Please grant me extra exam time because English is NOT my native language.”
第三步：上传填写好的延时申请表及经理写的信作为证明材料。（点此下载 ESL延时申请表）
第四步：提交材料，等待 3-10 天。
第五步：收到延时批准通知后致电 (800) 466-0450 约考试时间或者进入PearsonVue 账户预约考试时间。

I. 三种准备考试的办法:
1. 买线上课程:
从  X-cel （折扣码：WFG）或者  ExamFX 买在线课程，跟着课程走。在很多州因为有pre-licensing 的要求，这是唯一的办法。

2. 全部自学: 采用下面的书籍和资源。

II. 考试准备的第二阶段: 模拟考试

下载两套模拟题。
做每一套题时你可以给自己设好定时器，每分钟一道题做完一题。对做错的题目，你必须对照答案和解释，把每一题都弄清楚。考前两天或三天，也可以跟你的上级领导人约个时间，一起复习这些出错的薄弱环节。

执照考试通过了，下一步怎么办？

恭喜通过执照考试！下面你需要申请执照，并跟我们代理的公司签约。
1. 打指纹
预约打指纹并去打指纹。请妥善保存打指纹时他们给的发票，因为申请执照时，你需要输入你的指纹资料代码，而这个代码在发票上。

2. 申请执照：
上 Sircon.com 网站或 NIPR.com 网站申请执照。注意你要申请的执照必须跟你考试的名称相同。在回答关于职业生涯的问题时，必须要5年不间断的工作史。可以把当家庭主妇和做学生的时间也算成工作。你还需要提供你的指纹资料代码（在IdenToGo 办公室给你的发票上）。
